My Weekend Reading

I love seeing Pantone’s forecasts for the new “it” colors! I love it even more when they juxtapose swatches with gorgeous sketches. Enjoy!

I haven't knit brioche in awhile, but I had alot of fun making this simple cowl as a gift for a friend. I will write up the pattern and publish it as a freebie very soon. If you want to try brioche but all the fancy stuff looks intimidating to you (as it did to me), this is perfect for trying out the technique. Even basic brioche gives such beautiful texture!
I will always and forever be a person who stops to admire beautiful things. Especially spectacular sunsets like we just had this evening. This is just all kinds of color inspiration for my sketchbook, my design work, the dye pot... 😁😉
Light side and dark side tea towels complete! Which side wins the duel? That's for my viewers to decide - I'm so happy with this set!! Sound on for full Star Wars effect!
My phone had a "freezing fog" warning this morning when I drove my son to school. I'm in the middle of #75Hard and stopped at the local park to get my outdoor workout in and was treated to this scenery. It turns out that freezing fog is way more beautiful than it sounds.
Am I the only one still finishing up my gift knitting? 😳😂 I was originally working on a Star Wars-themed blanket but about a week before Christmas, I finally admitted to myself it was time to scrap it. All designers know that not every idea works out. But I am LOVING this tea towel design - it's not your usual Star Wars-themed knitting, but I love the subtlety because true fans such as my brother will get it. (If you know, you know.) Question is: do I have any Star Wars fans who follow me, and if so, do you want me to write up the patterns for these? I'm debating whether it's worth my time to write and publish a pattern, but if I get interest, I would be happy to do it as a New Year's gift for y'all who follow me. Let me know in the comments!
I was inspired by everyone's end of year posts to go through my phone and do the same. Here's 9 snapshots of my life in 2022. When you take time to reflect, it's pretty amazing how much happens in a year, and how much we have to be grateful for, even in a difficult year, as this one was for me. Feeling optimistic about 2023 - looking forward to continuing martial arts, lots of knitting, crocheting and spinning to do (in the company of all my favorite fellow makers of course!), sketches and drawings to do, a 3rd round of 75Hard, and hopefully many beautiful sunsets and possibly a few new farm babies. Thank you for everything you brought me 2022. Welcome 2023!
